Review: Arlo Parks’ Collapsed in Sunbeams

After being longlisted for the BBC Sound of 2020, and then going on to be awarded theBBC Music Introducing Artist of the Year award last year, the release of Arlo Parks’ debut album was highly anticipated by many. As we find ourselves in midst of a third lockdown, this album has been released at the perfect time. Although the mornings and evenings are getting lighter, the prevailing restrictions mean we still can’t do the things that make this generally quite depressing time of year easier, but this album definitely helps. COVID-19 Vaccines: A New Hope for 2021

Whilst many of us feared that COVID-19 would never go away, the discovery of two vaccines in the UK has brought a new-found ounce of hope to the global pandemic. On hearing this news, many now can see the light at the end of the tunnel. They anticipate their loved ones receiving a vaccine, so they can finally hug without worry and without the potentially fatal risks. Going into 2021, we can finally begin to look forward to finding a new ‘normality’, as, for many, the pandemic has shifted what ‘normal’ means. It has changed people’s perspective of what is important, putting more emphasis on the extreme gratitude we should show to the NHS and key workers, who have saved and continue to save many lives. Festive Favourites: The Holiday

It’s the most wonderful time of the year to stare longingly into Jude Law’s eyes, and there’s no better way to do so than by watching The Holiday this Christmas. I religiously watch The Holiday every year, and it’s particularly great for the beginning of December when you’re easing into the Christmas spirit because it isn’t that Christmassy. It’s one of those Christmas films that happens at Christmas but could, equally, happen at any time of the year. The Best Podcasts for Lockdown Listening

Lockdown is boring. It really is. One can only bake so much banana bread and tolerate so many Zoom quizzes. Therefore, the question of 2020 has become: ‘what shall I do now?’
